Community Based Rehabilitation (CBR)

We have reported about the Community Based Rehabilitation (CBR) program in our past reports, especially in the region of Kolar Gold Fields (KGF), here is a brief story of KGF and Roshan.

Kolar Gold Fields (KGF)

An unseen humanity survives among the abandoned world of Kolar Gold Fields. Riches vanished, leaving behind a society of children suffering with profound disability. The parents of these children are residents of this gold mining dump sites. Most of the children born among them have been suffering with CP, MR, epilepsy, Autism and are special need children.

One such child is Roshan a 7 years’ boy with multiple disability. Born to mother with serious disability been hospitalised since many years. Roshan is being taken care by his widow grandmother who runs a petty shop in-house to care of their needs. Roshan Can’t speak nor stand, walk or move, his hands leg have deformed and is considered as 100% disabled by medical institutions.

Balajothi works with disabled children in KGF, Bangalore & Mysore. Balajothi in its CBR program identifies, reaches out to such children provides with medical treatment, support equipment, nutritional supplement and all other necessities which they can’t afford. Counselling, training and emotional support provided to this family member is considered as great gift from the gods.
