Thank you for your support and donations of USD 1013. The Project enlightens the vision of AWARD Pakistan to combat the climatic changes through Plantation in Pakistan . AWARD Pakistan plans to plant 1 million trees in the next 5 years considering the fact that Pakistan is among the list of those countries which will be most affected by the Climatic Changes.The country had faced several natural disasters on very large scale in the past decade due to rise in temperature such as earthquakes, famine, floods, deadly heatwaves etc.
During the last quarter, AWARD Pakistan initiated 10 activities with the rural communities (residing on the river banks) for reducing disaster risk and for planting trees in the rural suburbs of District Muzaffargarh. Tree plantation in these areas is one of the major activity that could save these areas from flood. AWARD's social mobilizers assisted the communities in developing up the risk reduction plans.Also communities were encouraged to plant trees in their areas. AWARD wishes to extend the program to 25 villages in this year. For this purpose , we require more support from the supporters and donors. AWARD has already initiated a program with the help of Global Givnig for the Relief , Recovery and Resilience for the flood which will also be targeting the tree plantation.
We would like to request our donors to continue their support , to help the people fight back harmful effects of climate change.
