Thank you for your support and donations of USD 1649. The project endorses the vision of the government to combat climate change through plantations in Pakistan. AWARD Pakistan plans to plant 1 million trees in the next 5 years, considering that Pakistan is among the top 10 countries most affected by climate change. The country had faced several natural disasters on very large scale in the past decade due to rise in temperature, such as earthquakes, famine, floods, deadly heatwaves, etc.
On the occasion of Independence Day, AWARD Pakistan organized tree plantations in 70 rural areas, with almost 70 rural communities where AWARD Pakistan is operating. The plantation was followed by sensitization on the protection and safety of these plants as well as its effects on societies. AWARD is regularly engaging and encouraging communities to plant trees on a self-help basis to create sensitization and realization among communities.
To extend this initiative to more villages, AWARD requires more support from its supporters and donors. February is considered suitable for plantations in Pakistan; therefore, we are hopeful to plant 1000 trees with the help of the communities.
We would like to request that our donors continue their support to help the people fight back against the harmful effects of climate change.
