We appreciate your help and the USD 1974 contributions you made. The project endorses the vision of the government to combat climate change through plantations in Pakistan. AWARD Pakistan plans to plant 1 million trees in the next 5 years, considering that Pakistan is among the top 10 countries most affected by climate change. The country had faced several natural disasters on very large scale in the past decade due to rise in temperature, such as earthquakes, famine, floods, deadly heatwaves, etc.
AWARD team has been encouraging rural and urban communities to plant trees in their surroundings. This has been done through house visits and group meetings with the target groups of each and every project of AWARD. The community, in response, is playing its part and is planting trees as much as they can.
To extend this initiative to more villages, AWARD requires more support from its supporters and donors. February is considered suitable for plantations in Pakistan; therefore, we are hopeful to plant 1000 trees with the help of the communities.
We would like to request that our donors continue their support to help the people fight back against the harmful effects of climate change.
