Dear Friend,
Warm greetings and thank you very much for your generous support to our project providing support to refugees affected by internal war in Mindanao. Additional refugees are being added every now and then and they are affected by natural disasters such as the recent typhoon and massive flooding in some parts of the country due to typhoons and monsoon rains. I think that this is the new normal and that we need to be proactive in assisting those who are displaced and unable to return to their homes for a long time. This reporting period, we launched a series of training programs for displaced families and the training focused on improving nutrition and income in the household. The training is geared towards providing the refugees with life-skills. In the past, we provide directly to them money but we see little effect in terms of sustaining the income and livelihood of the refugees, hence this approach. This reporting period we were able to conduct 4 trainings with a total of 340 refugees. After the training we were able to release micro-finance support for 132 approved livelihood projects. We will do close monitoring of these projects in the coming days.
Hoping for your continuing support.
Very sincerely yours,
Cora
