With the warm weather officially starting in Japan, Mirai no Mori hosted a BBQ lunch in sunny Mitake, gathering young adults who grew up in care homes (aged 17 to 24), and 25 out of the 46 riders who will be tackling 500 km in bicycle at the end of May. These courageous riders are continuously raising funds for life-changing outdoor programs for children living in care homes in Japan, who must leave the care homes by 18 and build an independent life.
This was an encounter of both new and familiar faces for the Mirai no Mori team, most of whom will meet the riders again on June 2nd in Nagano- the last day and final destination.
Participants enjoyed chicken burritos and a delicious homemade Charity Cake, baked and sold by one of the riders as an individual fundraising initiative.
Let’s keep this amazing momentum going, and good luck to all 46 riders in their training!
