Day 1 of the KIWL 500km Charity Cycle Ride kicked off today with high spirits as riders embark on the 139km journey from Shizuoka to Toyokawa, the longest ride of all 4 days. Excitement filled the air as riders began this 4-day adventure together in amazing weather, all in support of Mirai no Mori. Among the riders is our Executive Director, Kozue Oka, who is taking on her 5th KIWL Charity Cycle Ride this year!
Accompanying the riders are 4 support car drivers, including Mirai no Mori Co-Founder, Jeff Jensen, who play a key role in managing any emergencies and making sure all of the riders arrive safe to each destination.
Stay tuned for more updates as our riders pedal with purpose to get to the finish in Nagano on June 2nd.
