Overview: Adjah Cancer Support Ghana is proud to present the achievements of our Mobile Breast Cancer Screening Project, aimed at providing essential breast cancer screening services to underserved communities across Ghana. This report highlights the impact of our efforts and extends gratitude to our generous donors whose support made this project possible.

Objectives:

  1. Increase awareness about breast cancer and the significance of early detection.
  2. Provide free or affordable breast cancer screening services to women in remote areas.
  3. Facilitate timely diagnosis and treatment for women identified with breast abnormalities.

Implementation: The project employed a mobile screening unit equipped with state-of-the-art mammography machines and ultrasound equipment, staffed by trained medical professionals. The unit was deployed to various communities, focusing on rural villages and peri-urban areas where access to healthcare is limited.

Activities:

  1. Community Outreach: Extensive outreach programs were conducted to raise awareness about breast cancer, its risk factors, and the importance of regular screening.
  2. Screening Sessions: On-site screening sessions were conducted, offering mammograms and breast ultrasound examinations to women aged 40 and above.
  3. Education and Counseling: Educational sessions were held to teach women about breast self-examination techniques and the significance of follow-up screenings. Counseling services were provided to women with abnormal findings, offering support throughout the process.

Impact:

  • Increased Awareness: The project significantly raised awareness about breast cancer, reaching thousands of women in remote areas.
  • Screening Coverage: The mobile unit conducted screenings for a substantial number of women, contributing to early detection and intervention.
  • Timely Diagnosis: Several cases of breast abnormalities were detected, enabling prompt diagnosis and referral for treatment.

Gratitude to Donors: Adjah Cancer Support Ghana extends heartfelt gratitude to our generous donors whose unwavering support made this project possible. Their contributions have directly impacted the lives of countless women, providing them with access to life-saving screening services and empowering them to take control of their health.

Conclusion: The Mobile Breast Cancer Screening Project has been a testament to the power of collaboration and generosity in the fight against breast cancer. With continued support from our donors and stakeholders, Adjah Cancer Support Ghana remains committed to expanding access to essential healthcare services and improving outcomes for women across Ghana.
