Introduction

Adjah Cancer Support Ghana is committed to reducing the impact of breast cancer through early detection and awareness. In Ghana, breast cancer remains a leading cause of cancer-related deaths among women. Early detection is crucial in improving survival rates, but many women, especially in rural areas, lack access to screening facilities. To address this, we propose a Mobile Breast Cancer Screening Project.

Project Overview

The Mobile Breast Cancer Screening Project aims to bring screening services directly to underserved communities across Ghana. Utilizing a mobile clinic, we will provide free breast cancer screenings, education on breast health, and referrals for follow-up care to women in remote areas. This initiative will help bridge the gap in healthcare access and increase early detection of breast cancer.

Objectives

• Increase Access: Provide breast cancer screening to at least 5,000 women in rural and underserved areas over the next 12 months.
• Early Detection: Identify cases of breast cancer at an early stage, thereby increasing the chances of successful treatment.
• Education and Awareness: Educate women on the importance of regular screenings and self-examination.

Project Activities

• Mobile Screening Clinic: Deployment of a fully equipped mobile clinic staffed with trained healthcare professionals.
• Community Outreach: Partnering with local leaders and organizations to raise awareness and encourage participation.
• Follow-up Care: Establishing a referral system for women who require further diagnostic tests or treatment.
