Dear donors,

thank you for believing in our healthcare charity project for Burmese migrants living in Thailand, it  has been an absolute game-changer action for the migrant communities working in the Ranong area without access to healthcare.

The Project's Impact

Let's break it down. Our project was all about bringing much-needed medical care to Burmese migrants in Thailand, who are living without access to healthcare. With the ongoing economic crisis in Myanmar, their situation was dire.

Here are the key accomplishments:

  1. Medical Outreach: Our mobile clinic staff made monthly visits to 13 Burmese migrant communities residing in Ranong Province. During these visits, we conducted comprehensive medical check-ups and dispensed essential medicines to people working 10 hours a day in dangerous sectors such as construction, plantation, and fishing industries.

  2. Community Health Volunteer Training: We successfully trained 30 Community Health Volunteers. These individuals now are able to address the basic healthcare needs of their community such as as first aid, accident prevention in the workplace, common disease awareness, and understanding of healthcare rights. The training of these volunteers represents a crucial step towards empowering the communities to take charge of their own health and well-being.

  3. Transition to National Health Insurance: Through an informative campaign, we educated Burmese migrants about Thailand's national health insurance system. This initiative was designed to gradually shift responsibility for their healthcare from charity-based services to a more sustainable national system. While this transition is ongoing, it holds immense promise for the long-term sustainability of healthcare provision for these communities.

The Big Number - 2563 Patients Served!

Thanks to your support, we provided medical care to a whopping 2563 patients. That's 2563 lives positively impacted, 2563 families feeling a little safer, and 2563 stories of hope.

We encountered a number of challenges during the project, primarily associated with language and cultural differences. Additionally, some migrant communities were situated in remote, hard-to-reach areas. However, with the unwavering dedication of our team and the support of our generous donors, we successfully navigated these challenges and delivered the essential care and training as planned.

Your support has been pivotal in achieving these outcomes, and we cannot thank you enough for believing in our mission and making it a reality. Your generosity has touched the lives of thousands, and we are truly grateful for your invaluable contribution.

We look forward to your continued support as we strive to extend our reach, touch more lives, and create lasting change in the healthcare landscape for these underserved communities. Please don't forget to participate in our annual campaign for Giving Tuesday the 28th of November! We are facing hard times in Myanmar and we need all of your support to be able to stay in the country.
