Since late 2025, thousands fleeing the siege of Al Fasher have sought refuge in Tawila, North Darfur, overwhelming its fragile services. Many displaced adults and elderly suffer from untreated injuries, chronic diseases, and malnutrition, with little access to healthcare. SAMA will deploy a mobile medical clinic to deliver life-saving outpatient care, chronic disease management, essential medicines, and referrals-bringing dignity and care directly to those left behind.
Since early 2024, civilians in Al Fasher, North Darfur, have endured siege, violence, and restricted access to food and healthcare. Escalating attacks in late 2025 forced tens of thousands to flee, many for the second or third time. Tawila has absorbed a large share of these displaced families despite having minimal health services. Adults and elderly now face untreated injuries, chronic disease, and malnutrition with little access to care.
This project will deploy a mobile medical clinic to reach displaced families in Tawila who lack access to healthcare. The clinic will provide outpatient consultations, treatment of acute illnesses and injuries, management of chronic diseases, essential medications, and referrals for severe cases. By bringing care directly to affected communities, the project will reduce preventable illness and deaths, ease suffering, and restore dignity to adults and elderly displaced by conflict.
Over time, this project will help restore basic healthcare for displaced communities in Tawila who were cut off from services after the El Fasher crisis. By bringing early care and clear referral pathways, it will reduce serious health complications and unnecessary suffering. Led by a local organization, the project will support 2,000-4,000 people, strengthen community-level health capacity, and rebuild confidence in accessible, lifesaving care.
