Back to school!

By Andrei Craciun | Project leader

In the last months, there were around 30 activities carried out in the communities we were working with: Ceplenita, Raducaneni and Ses Bahlui. About 100 children benefited from our activities with the Mobile school. The project team visited each community once a week with educational activities and lots of games, especially in August, when the children were on vacation.

The main educational activities were: literacy, math exercises, creative therapy, health, sports and psychomotor development. All these activities were supported in a playful way, with the aim of making school more attractive and fun for children.

In addition to our regular work, in recent months we have also started working with 52 orphaned Ukrainian children. Our team of experts offers them support in school integration, psychological counseling, and support in learning the Romanian language. Above all these activities, the mobile school comes as a bridge between educators and children, strengthening their relationship.

We also organized a summer kindergarten for 15 children from underprivileged communities at our educational center. For most of them, this was the first contact with kindergarten, although most are old enough to go to school this year. At the end of summer, the kindergarten program ended, but we continued to give them all the support they need to enroll them in school and overcome the adjustment period.

In September, here in Romania school starts, and all the children have to prepare for it. That means they have to buy school supplies. For many of them, this is a real problem, because they do not have the financial resources to buy everything they need. Unfortunately, this is one of the main problem that contributes to school dropout.

We are in the middle of autumn and the weather no longer helps us to support outdoor activities. For this reason, we will continue with indoor activities in schools and at our educational center.
