Overall, the winter of 2025 proved to be relatively manageable for both animals and herders. Our veterinary team, consisting of lead veterinarian D.Ochirbat and assistant veterinarian Kh.Enkhzul, traveled across five different Bags of Saikhan Soum in Bulgan Province. Equipped with extensive training in veterinary medicine, we focused on the proper use of treatments, the identification of common diseases, and hands-on procedures using appropriate materials i.e wound bandages and animal drugs.
Our outreach program has engaged 75 families, providing essential veterinary services to their livestock. During our visits, we treated a total of 17 animals, addressing a variety of health issues including laceration bandaging, administering antibiotics for chronic flu, and providing antiseptic treatments for cattle tongue infections. Additionally, we tackled digestive-related conditions such as bloat and rumen acidosis, which could be particularly severe in winter months.
Recognizing the importance of education in livestock care, we delivered essential medicine packages to herder families and provided thorough training on proper usage and administration. This not only empowered the herders with knowledge but also ensured that they could effectively manage their animals' health in emergency or harsh weather conditions. The positive outcomes of our program underscore the critical role of veterinary outreach in sustaining the well-being of both animals and their caretakers during challenging winter conditions.
We would like to express our sincere gratitude to our generous donors and supporters who have made our Veterinary Outreach Program possible. Your contributions have enabled us to provide crucial assistance to those in dire need during this challenging time of year. Together, we are making a meaningful difference in the lives of those we serve. Thank you for standing with us in this vital mission.
