Morocco Earthquake Relief and Recovery

Thank you for supporting this project. The impacted communities in Morocco will be rebuilding from the earthquake for years to come and we are grateful that you help ensure NEF can be a reliable resource in their long-term recovery plans.

To ensure we support the most vulnerable households, we have been conducting vulnerability assessments in selected earthquake-impacted villages. After assessments are completed in mid-January we will quickly begin selection of who will receive assistance.

With funds raised so far, we are able to reach 2,625 earthquake-impacted Moroccans.

Relief: Approximately 300 households will receive multi-purpose cash assistance to support their access to basic needs such as shelter, food, non-food items, medical needs, education, etc. This cash assistance will allow recipients the flexibility to choose where immediate support is needed most for their specific situations. 

Recovery: To support the recovery of income-generating activities, another 300 households will receive cash assistance to purchase tools, equipment, seeds, livestock, etc,. This second mode of cash assistance enables us to support the long-term recovery of earthquake-impacted communities so that after immediate aid is no longer available community members have the means to continue building back what recovery looks like for them and to provide for their families.
