In the aftermath of the earthquake, we witnessed the profound impact on the lives and mental health of the affected communities. However, amidst the challenges, our HAF team embarked on a journey of hope and healing with 415 resilient women and their families. We are so very grateful to continue our partnership with Project Hope, and deliver psychosocial empowerment support with 1,125 women in 45 community groups over the next six months.
Through our workshops, we aim to foster a sense of empowerment and renewal. Towards the end of the psychosocial workshop with a village in the epicenter of the earthquake, the women of the village, inspired by the Moroccan tradition of celebrating joy with Henna, decided to mark the beginning of a new chapter in their lives. With the vibrant hearts of Henna, they symbolically embraced positivity and strength toward reducing the weight of grief and sadness.
The transformative power of this moment was awe-inspiring. Witnessing the women come together to create a visual representation of their collective resilience was a testament to the indomitable spirit of the human heart. The success of these workshops reflects not only the effectiveness of our approach but also the potential for broader positive change in the lives of those affected by natural disasters.
