We visited the villages of Famana, Neneko and Missadiobougou in October, 2008. Our mosquito net initiative has been very strong in Famana and Neneko, but is just starting in Missadiobougou. Malaria cases are down significantly in Famana and Neneko, but still very high in Missadiobougou.
When we asked the health agent in Famana about malaria, he said that the villagers thought that the mosquitos had all disappeared. They weren't getting bit anymore and malaria was almost eradicated. The villagers understand how important their mosquito nets are.
We want to thank our donors for your generous support. It's amazing that the amount of roughly $8-9 USD can change a family's life forever.
