It’s the rainy season in Mali, which means mosquitos are out in full force through October. Malaria, a deadly disease transmitted by mosquitos, remains one of the top health concerns the villagers of Ouelessebougou face.
Insecticide treated mosquito nets are one of the most effective methods of protection against malaria and cost only $10. You can help those who live in extreme poverty get one of these nets to protect their families.
The Alliance subsidizes the cost of the net so that villagers only have to pay $1. Not only does this give a family ownership of the net, but encourages both maintenance of the net and participation in training - on how to use the nets and on malaria prevention. The Alliance organizes these trainings during distribution.
We cannot claim 100% success with the nets. No organization can. But, with your help, we can continue to provide the best tools to protect the people of Ouelessebougou. With your help, we can see 1,300 nets distributed this year!
Thank you for your continued support of this critical initiative!
