Zeenat B*, 56, lives with her husband who is currently unemployed. She was randomly selected for Diabetes screening while she had come to our clinic for an unrelated ailment. When her Hb1Ac showed an extremely elevated level of 14.4% she was immediately enrolled into our DHHP. After further testing, she was put on medciations and advised dietary modifications. Within 3 months her HbA1c levels have improved to 8%. Zeenat is very satisfied that not only was her disease caught in time but that she is also reciving all medications and tests at little to no cost to her.
Zeenat is just one of 88 patients who till-date have been been enrolled into our Diabetes Program. This program is fulfilling a great need in a segment of the population that is totally unaware of health risks. Risks that would otherwise have been caught if the patient was living in a developed country where regular screening is a norm.
