Bano visits the Doctor.

By Rubina Husain and Marium Khan | Admin Assistant and Senior Associate Marketing

Bano with her mother
Bano with her mother

Our daughter Bano is 7 years old, recently we noticed that she had become a little listless, and seemed low energy, quite unlike her usual self.  I mentioned her symptoms to the SHINE Humanity community health worker, who told us that Bano may be anemic and advised taking her to their clinic in Gharo.

It was a very worrying moment for our family as we really did not know much about Anemia but we were determined to find help and support for our child’s health. The medical team at SHINE Humanity provided us with vital information about anemia and its causes, they explained the importance of a balanced diet. Bano was prescribed medication to boost her hemoglobin levels and I received counselling on how to prepare nutritious and iron-rich foods for our whole family. The objective was to not only treat my child but to also educate me, the mother, on what my daughter should eat in the future to prevent a relapse.

I am pleased to say that Bano’s health has improved significantly. She's active, happy, and full of life, thanks to the care and support provided by SHINE Humanity.

SHINE Humanity's programs and clinics look to not just providing medicines but also encouraging patients to make changes in their life, keeping in mind the challenges faced by rural communities, they can aim for a healthier lifestyle.

We are grateful for your continued support.which enables us provide quality, primary healthcare to the underserved communities in Pakistan.
