Raheela is a young mother and lives in the area around Gharo. As with many other families in this under privileged area, her family struggles with day to day expenses and are pushed to the limit if a family member falls sick, but the anguish of a sick child is unbearable.
Raheela brought her child, Zameer to our clinic, he had been unwell for a few days and was quite lethargic. The medical staff at our Gharo clinic provided treatment and support in the form of medicines and also RUTF packets. These nutrition packets are an easy to use form of sustenance which require no cooking or preparation. With a shelf life of two years, they require no refrigeration and provide good nutrition for young children.
Along with some counselling about diet and nutrition, Raheela felt a sense of relief knowing that her child would get better soon. Her family was grateful for the support and dedication of SHINE in providing accessible healthcare for families like theirs.
We are so thankful to our donors whose generosity have allowed SHINE Humanity to continue its mission of providing healthcare to underserved communities.
