Ramla is a lively young lady living in the Koohi Goht area near our Zia Abbas Haider Clinic. Ramla had quite a noticeable rash on her face which apart from being itchy, was making her quite self-conscious. After trying some home remedies she convinced her family to bring her to our clinic, where she was examined and diagnosed with Ringworm also known as Tinea. Ramla used the prescribed anti-fungal medication and within a week she could see signs of improvement. The itch and rash had considerably reduced and her confidence was restored.
Ramla is one of many in rural Pakistan who suffer from skin infections that are often neither diagnosed nor treated. This highlights the need for community-led strategies to raise awareness and reduce the prevalence of these preventable conditions.
We are so thankful to our donors whose generosity have allowed SHINE Humanity to continue its mission of providing healthcare to underserved communities.
