Sapna, a young mother from Sehwan, lives in a makeshift tent with her husband and five children, surviving on the little money her husband earns through begging. With no clean water, sanitation, or schooling for her children, she faces daily struggles with poverty and poor health. Over the years, she has suffered repeated infections due to lack of hygiene and is now in her seventh pregnancy while still breastfeeding her 10-month-old infant.
Malnourished, anemic, and exhausted, she presented at SHINE Humanity’s Feroza Abbasi Sehat Center in Sehwan, Sindh with fatigue, itching, and abdominal pain, carrying an ultrasound report from a local hospital showing she was 28 weeks pregnant. The physician provided her with much-needed medication, counseled her with care, and advised follow-up at the nearest THQ for vaccinations and tests.
For Sapna, the clinic became a source of relief, giving her the support and guidance she desperately needed to safeguard her own health and that of her unborn child.
