Dear Friends,
Thanks to the generosity of donors like yourself, our three projects in Sindh, Pakistan treated 70000 patients in 2015. Our clinic in Gharo has seen a substantial increase in patient numbers. Since the start of the new year, we are averaging almost 120 patient per day at our facility.
Our charitable healthcare clinics are providing quality healthcare to those who are in dire need of our support. Your contributions are pivotal in helping those in greatest need. One such patient is 10 month old Usman. Usman’s father had passed away and he was bought into the Civil Hospital’s RBUT Pediatric ward by his uncle, a poor farmer barely able to support his extended family.
Usman exhibited typical symptoms of gastroenteritis: high fever, diarrhea and vomiting.
Severely dehydrated,he was provided immediate treatment at the ward to stabilize his condition. All his medications were provided free of cost by SHINE Humanity. He was released from the ward after three days after a complete recovery.
Unfortunately cases like Usman’s are very common in countries like Pakistan, where often poverty, unhygienic conditions and unclean water cause children to fall seriously ill. On an average children less than 2 years frequently get 6 or more infections a year.
Although diarrheal illnesses are a major source of mortality in developing countries, treatment for severe infections is often out of reach for those who are the most vulnerable. Government resources are often limited and mismanaged. We need your support to treat patients like Usman and countless others who throng the Pediatrics wards of Civil Hospital Shikarpur. Your donations will give these children a second chance in life.
We look forward to your continued support in 2016 !
Thank you
