Hanif's Story

By Zaheer Laghari/Naila Ahmed | Project Director/ Development Director

Dear Friends,

Accidents like the one experienced by Hanif* are very common in this part of the world. The streets in small towns are crowded and vehicles of all sizes ply on the narrow roads, crossing the street in such circumstances is often wrought with danger with drivers seldom making way for pedestrians crossing over to the other side.

Hanif, a sixty year old father of six was runover by a motorcyclist while on his way to work as a daily wager. He initally tried to treat the wound using simple home remedies but the wound soon got infected.
His wife, a regular visitor to our clinic finally persuaded him to come to the SHINE Humanity Gharo Clinic for proper treatment.
He arrived complaining of pain, swollen ankle and high fever.

At the clinic his wound was cleaned and disinfected,he was then put on a course of antibiotics and advised daily dressing of the wound.Within days his fever was down and the wound showed visible signs of healing.

Hanif is just one of many who have received treatment at our Primary Healthcare Clinic in Gharo. With a nominal charge of 30 cents per visit, patients receive treatment from a qualified doctor and are provided free medicines for three days or more, depending on the need. All of this could not have been possible without the generosity of donors like yourself. We are truly grateful for your support and are humbled by the trust you have placed in us and our Organization.

This year we have already treated almost 50,000 needy patients at our three charitable clinics in Sindh.
We hope to continue the work we do with your continued support.

With Gratitude,

Naila Ahmed
