Development Alert seeks support to acquire a reliable field motorcycle to improve the mobility of our community outreach team in remote districts of Uganda. Currently, our team depends on hired transport, which is often unreliable, costly, and delays critical field activities. With this motorcycle, staff can respond more effectively to community needs, monitor ongoing projects, and support vulnerable households in a timely manner.
Many communities we serve are in remote rural areas with poor road networks. Without dedicated transport, our team relies on hired motorcycles and vehicles that are frequently unavailable, expensive, and disrupt project schedules. This lack of reliable mobility slows our impact, raises operational costs, and limits our ability to respond quickly-particularly in emergencies affecting women, children, and vulnerable households.
Your contribution will enable Development Alert to purchase a durable motorcycle, safety gear, and basic maintenance tools. This motorcycle will: - Cut travel time to project sites by over 60%. - Provide independent, reliable mobility for our team. - Enhance real-time monitoring of ongoing programs. - Reach more remote villages each week. - Enable rapid response to emergencies or urgent community needs. - Lower transport expenses, freeing more resources for direct community support.
With improved mobility, our team will reach over 5,000 community members annually, ensuring consistent follow-up, stronger engagement, and timely delivery of services. This investment will strengthen programs in child protection, women's empowerment, livelihoods, education, and environmental conservation. Reliable transport will improve efficiency, reduce costs, and allow us to scale our impact to new communities.
