Mountain of Light is a student-led fundraising initiative founded by Kohinoor, a 10th-grade student aspiring to become a reconstructive plastic surgeon. Partnering with the Acid Survivors Foundation in Bangladesh, the project raises funds to provide medical treatment, reconstructive surgery, and rehabilitation for acid attack survivors. Its mission is to restore dignity, confidence, and hope by supporting life-changing care and long-term recovery.
Acid violence devastates women and children, causing severe burns, disfigurement, vision loss, and deep trauma. Survivors face stigma, job loss, and overwhelming medical costs. Recovery requires multiple surgeries and long-term care, which many cannot afford. This project provides essential treatment and rehabilitation to restore dignity, confidence, and hope.
Mountain of Light funds comprehensive survivor care through ASF. Donations support reconstructive surgeries, pre- and post-operative care, ongoing clinic services, psychological counseling, and rehabilitation programs like education and vocational training. The initiative aims to restore hope, dignity, and independence, transforming lives one survivor at a time.
Mountain of Light goes beyond treatment to transform lives. Survivors regain physical function, confidence, and independence, easing family financial burdens. They can return to school, contribute to their communities, and become advocates against acid violence. The initiative promotes dignity, justice, and hope, turning trauma into renewed possibility.
