Hello and happy Spring!
The season of growth is alive and well here at Humane Canada’s National Pet Food Bank program. Thanks to your support, we are excited to be working on some big initiatives this year.
Launching a new grant cycle
In 2026, we will once again be able to provide funding for organizations dedicated to pet food assistance programs. Grant funds will be available to support the purchase of pet food and supplies, program development, and the transport and storage needed to sustain these efforts. Your contributions will enable local initiatives to flourish, reaching even more pets and families in need. We plan to launch our 2026 grant application this Spring!
Enhancing the National Pet Food Bank map
Our interactive map identifies pet food banks across the country, helping connect Canadians with the support they need to feed their fur families in times of hardship. This year, we will be making two important updates to this map.
Network expansion: we will be working to expand the network of pet food banks on our map so more Canadians can access support when they need it.
Accessibility: the map will be updated to improve accessibility and overall user experience to support a smooth, positive experience for all users. During times of hardship, we want to make it as easy as possible for Canadians to find support.
We look forward to continue growing this initiative. This work is not possible without your incredible support, thank you for helping us continue to tackle pet hunger in Canada! We are truly appreciative of your kindness to animals.
