Aloha friends,
To celebrate Arbor Day and Earth Day this month, FTPF is excited to announce our 2021 native tree and reforestation program in Hawai'i!
Each year, FTPF works very hard to raise the funds necessary to implement this program on Hawai'i Island. Happily, this past year we raised enough to plant at least 100 new native and endangered trees in two forest reserves within the Puna District. Together with our partners at Hawaii Environmental Restoration and Malama O Puna, FTPF is now in the tree propagation and growing phase so that we may out-plant in the forest towards the end of the year.
In the meantime, we are still fundraising so that we can grow and plant even more of these incredible native plants. Please consider donating so that we can expand this project and protect the culturally and environmentally important ohia, ohe, and dozens of other rare species of our Hawaiian forests.
Mahalo nui loa,
The FTPF Team
