Aloha friends,
We hope all is well. We don't have much to update our supporters on for this project as, unfortunately, we have not been able to raise the funds we need to hold another round of planting in the forest this year.
That being said, we are still growing seedlings in our nurseries on the Island and have hopes to move forward in the coming months. We are actively applying for grants and other opportunities to make sure the trees we are propagating can be planted out to help restore and revitalize our native Hawaiian forests.
In the meantime, please check out our friends at Malama O Puna and Hawai'i Environmental Restoration who are active in the forests throughout the year on related work.
We will be back in touch with another update, hopefully to say we are planning our next planting days. In the meantime, thank you for all your support, and send good thoughts to the trees in our nurseries!
