Meet Yamsuyo, age 19, in her junior year at the Lycee Moderne de l’Amitie (LMA). Like all of the young village women whose lunches we support at the LMA, Yamsuyo has faced challenges in her life and has rallied. She is an orphan and her extended family is unable to support her education. She was accepted to the LMA as a freshman and is especially grateful for the quality of instruction and for the hot meal she gets every day she is in school which enables her to focus on her studies. Following secondary school, Yamsuyo hopes to study medicine at the university and become a physician. She looks forward to being able to treat people in need, to help support her extended family and to assist her brothers and sisters with their educations.
Yamsuyo extends her genuine thanks to Global NEEED Burkina and to GlobalGiving donors for giving her the opportunity to make the most of her capacities so that she can in turn serve others.
In the words of a long-time donor, “I know this work personally and you can't spend a dollar better than with this fund and the organization (Global NEEED Burkina) it supports in Burkina Faso that is truly transforming the lives of multiple generations of girls, women, and families to come.”
