Dear donor and friend, You Know Who. Time for an update!! Since our last report, we doubled the number of our spayed or neutered strays and accomplished a third part of our goal. Some days ago, we captured 6 dogs in the park, 4 males and two females, and our vet neutered them all the same day. Two female dogs of 23 have had already been spayed in earlier times, and in order to avoid another try, our vet uses some ink to make a tattoo in one of their ears. A pleasant side effect of our project is that, after being neutered, we publish the animals on Facebook to inform the community and rise interest and awareness. So at least 10 animals could be re-homed, two are waiting to be adopted in foster homes and our shelter received Tobo, a young bullterrier mix. Though, the majority returns back to the place they came from and now belong to. There are some strategic points, where people use to abandon their pets: the public park, some restaurants and the rural surroundings, where a survival for them often is almost impossible. However, according to a census, realized by the municipal administration at the end of the year 2018, there are more than 400 abandoned cats and dogs in the streets and the countryside of Tabio and we are so happy to contribute with our program to stop at least their reproduction. We are so grateful for this opportunity to help. All credit goes to you, dear donor and friend, You Know Who.
