Dear Donors,
We’re excited to share the latest progress from Gateway Orphanage in Kenya, made possible by your continued generosity and support.
Farming for Self-Sufficiency
Despite some early financial challenges, Gateway has seen encouraging success in our farming efforts. We are currently cultivating maize, sugarcane, beans, bananas, groundnuts, potatoes and cassava, which help feed the children and reduce reliance on external support. These crops are an important step toward greater self-reliance for the orphanage.
Building for a Brighter Future
Though we had initially hoped to build a large facility, limited funds have led us to begin construction on a smaller, more manageable building. Once completed, this new space will serve a dual purpose: part dormitory and part canteen. Its location near a main road will allow us to sell produce and goods, such as sugar, bread, rice, soap, books and pens, providing a sustainable income for Gateway.
We are still in need of bags of cement and funding to pay local workers to continue construction. We remain prayerful and hopeful that more help will come so we can finish the building soon.
Education Matters
Thanks to your past donations, we were able to purchase new school books and pens — essential tools to continue educating our children.
Clean Water Restored
We also faced a challenge when our water pump stopped working, but thanks to timely help and determination, we’ve managed to repair the pump, ensuring ongoing access to clean and safe water for the children and staff.
Thank You from all of us at Gateway, thank you for your love, encouragement, and generosity. Your support is helping us build not just structures, but hope, dignity, and a brighter future for every child in our care.
Please consider donating again to help us finish construction and continue our vital work.
