Dear Faithful Donors,
Gateway Orphanage continues to work diligently toward its mission of providing a safe home and education for abandoned children in Kenya. Unfortunately, the organization has not yet been able to secure any monthly donors despite numerous outreach efforts, leaving them without a consistent budget to rely on. They currently receive very few donations, which is disheartening, as this organization truly deserves support for its dedication and perseverance in building a better future for the children under their care.
Gateway does receive some direct donations outside the GlobalGiving platform; however, these contributions do not offer the same advantages for donors—such as tax-deductible receipts and GlobalGiving’s additional incentive bonuses—that can greatly benefit the organization.
Despite these financial challenges, there has been some joyful news: Geoffrey and Faith, the directors of Gateway Orphanage, recently welcomed their baby girl, Katie Angelica Natasha. Both mother and child are in good health, though the family could use additional financial assistance to cover baby supplies and essential needs. Sadly, shortly after the baby’s arrival, Geoffrey was bedridden with malaria, adding further strain to their situation.
Construction of the new orphanage and school continues to progress, albeit slowly due to limited funds. However, by undertaking much of the building work themselves, the team is managing to reduce costs significantly. Their determination and hands-on effort are truly admirable, and we look forward to sharing the results of their hard work in future updates.
A Message from Geoffrey and Faith:
Each day, we wake up with the same dream—to give our children a safe place to call home. Even when challenges come, like illness or lack of funds, we remind ourselves that every brick we lay brings us closer to that dream. The children’s laughter keeps us going, and your kindness gives us strength.
Thank you to everyone who believes in us and in the future of these children. Your support means more than words can say. With your continued help, we can keep building—not only a home, but hope itself.
