Thank you for standing with displaced families from Myanmar. At a time when many households are facing uncertainty, rising costs and limited access to food, your generosity is helping families know that they have not been forgotten.
Through Health & Hope’s Food Banks Project, essential food items are being made available at affordable, subsidised prices for families who are doing all they can to earn a small income through informal agricultural work or daily labour. This practical support helps families put food on the table while preserving dignity and choice.
For the most vulnerable families, including those who are unable to buy food at all, the food banks also provide targeted food aid and small grants. In this way, the project is meeting urgent needs today while also helping communities build greater resilience for the future.
Since the project began in 2023, seven food banks have been established, and more than 7,000 people have already benefited. In the coming two weeks, five food banks will be re-stocked using both donated funds and income generated through the project’s revolving fund model. Because of your support, shelves can be replenished, meals can be shared, and hope can continue to grow in communities facing displacement and hardship.
After five years of support, we are now beginning to transition towards a model where the food banks can become self-sustaining, with Health & Hope gradually withdrawing direct support as the communities build the systems, confidence and resources to continue this work themselves.
Thank you for making this work possible. Your kindness is bringing more than food; it is bringing reassurance, stability and hope to families who need it most.
