Delhi Protection Home

Project Not for Sale is a Project being implementsd at the Delhi Protection Home of Rescue Foudnation

After nearly 20 Years of working in the State of Maharashtra, Rescue Foundation decided to build a Protection Home on the outskirts of the city of Delhi, the capital of India. The need to have our own Protection Home was felt after years of rescue operations being conducted in the Northern Areas of the Country and the lack of quality facilities to Rehabilitate those rescued.  We have realised that Delhi is the first point of entry for Women & Girls from the neighbouring Districts as well as neighbouring States of the country such as West Bengal, Assam, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh & Bihar.

The Delhi Home was built in 2018 and has a capacity to Care for 100 Women and Girls. It is a Protection Home for Major & Minor Girls rescued from Forced Sexual Exploitation, Child Labor, run away children, girls who are victims of Child Sexual Offences, Women/Girls who are victims of Forced Marriage, Domestic Violence or sold into Brothels for commercial sex.

Besides being a Protection Home for Women and Girls, the Home also has a Short Stay Facility Licence from the Govt.  Thus provides immediate safe and short term shelter for Women, Girls & Children who are referred by the Local Police and Govt Agencies.  These may be Victims of domestic violence, missing children, neglected by Parents, Children forced in begging, forced marriage, in need of Care & Protection for a short term.  Most of these cases involve counselling of family, parents and handing over Children to them.  A Follow Up is conducted to ensure there is no repeat of abuse in future.

Girls/Children admitted to Delhi Home are victims who have been abused, violated by family members sold or bonded to factories where they work for long hours in dangerous environments, or sold to brothels, dance bars, local orchestras  or forced to marry.  Many times they are part of broken or abusive homes, victims of abuse, neglect at the hands of the family members.
