Introduction

Not For Sale: Rescuing Victims of Human Trafficking " is a project which is being implemented by Rescue Foundaiton at the Delhi Home. It is a Protection Home for Children who are in need of care and protection.  

The Delhi Police and the Local Child Welfare Committees admit chidlren and young girls who have been sexually exploited or abused.  These are then taken care by the Delhi Home Shelter Team during thier time of rehabilitation

The Delhi Rescue Team conducts rescue operations based on information from the Police or Local Partners.  Young girls and at times children engaged in hazardous industries are rescued as part of these rescue operations

Investigatons & Rescue Operatons

Most of these Rescue Operations were conducted in the neibouring areas of Delhi, such as Jharkand, Gaziabad, and Betiya.  We found girls were kidnaped and forced to perform in Dance Orchestra and have sex with the men visitng these dances.  The Rescue Operations were conducted in partnership with the Local Anti Human Trafficking Units of the Police and Local Organizations.

Discharge: These girls or children were restored back to their families or parents after receiving orders from the courts or Child Welfare Committees.  A thorugh investigations  was conducted to check if the families are able to support them and not send them back to be exploited and abused

Rehabilitation

An average no of 50 young girls and children were taken care of during these last 4 Months.  As part of their Rehabilitation the children were provided with food, shelter, education support, legal aid, counselling, vocational guidance

Meditation, Physical Training & Entertainment

The the Home also ensured that the children had daily medication, prayers, yoga, exercises in form of Zumba Exercises.  Around 25 of them were taken for a trip to Mount Abu and Rishikesh.  The trip was a huge success as the children enjoyed themselves with some sight seeing, fun games and food

Health Montioring

All those who were admitted had their health monitored by the visiting Medical Practioner.  Few of the children needed to be taken to the local hospitals.

Education

Girls in Formal School were 26.  These children were accompanied by the Care Takers during their school going and return.  1 Girl is attending college.

Besides the formal schooling those children who are not able to attend formal school for whatever reason had informal literacy sessions which were attended by 25 children on a Monthly Average.

Counselling 

All those admitted received counselling, some of the children needed trauma counselling too.  Beside counselling the children the Counsellor also conducts counselling for parents and family memebrs

Vocational Training

Vocation Traininlg in form of Tailoring, Art & Craft, Hair & Make Up, making products was conducted regulary.  An average of 20 children participated in these vocation training sessions

Conclusion

We are grateful for the support of our donors which has enabled us to acomplish the above results for the 4 months of reporting
