We are proud to share meaningful progress in our project Nourishing 1100 Children of the Wixarika Community, made possible by the generosity and commitment of our donors and partners. To date, we have raised $26,281 toward our $50,000 goal, bringing us closer to ensuring that children in this remote and vulnerable region have consistent access to nutritious food and health education.

Nourishment That Reaches Every Day

During the first months of the year, we successfully distributed 432,000 food sachets, guaranteeing daily nutrition for 1,200 children throughout the first four months of the year. For many families, this daily meal represents more than food—it is stability, relief, and hope. Consistent nourishment is a cornerstone for healthy growth, learning, and overall wellbeing, especially in communities facing food insecurity.

Understanding Children’s Nutritional Health

As part of our commitment to evidencebased action, we conducted 800 anthropometric assessments out of 1,175 children enrolled in the program. These assessments allow us to better understand the nutritional status of the children and tailor our interventions accordingly.

The results show:

  • 57% boys and 43% girls
  • 78% of children are within a normal nutritional range
  • 7% are experiencing some level of undernutrition
  • 14% are living with overweight or obesity

Each statistic represents a child whose health matters. While many children are growing well thanks to ongoing efforts, these findings remind us of the urgent need to continue preventive care, nutritional monitoring, and family education.

Education for Lasting Change

Nutrition alone is not enough to create longterm impact. Through our educational component, children and their families learn about balanced diets, healthy habits, and selfcare. We are encouraged to see that 75% of participants have maintained consistent attendance, reflecting strong community engagement and trust in the program. Education empowers families to make informed decisions that support their children’s health well beyond the duration of this project.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to every donor and ally who has supported this initiative. Your contribution is helping children wake up nourished, attend school with energy, and grow with dignity.

There is still work to be done. We invite you to continue supporting and sharing this project so we can reach our fundraising goal and expand our impact. Together, we can keep feeding hope, strengthening health, and building a brighter future for the Wixarika community—one child at a time.
