Nourish & Empower” Food Cart Initiative
Dear Esteemed Donors,
Poverty and unemployment remain pressing challenges for thousands of families across Pakistan, particularly among daily wage earners and unskilled laborers who struggle to secure a steady income. In response to these challenges, the Customs Health Care Society (CHCS) launched the “Nourish & Empower” Food Cart Initiative—a program designed not only to alleviate short-term financial hardship but also to foster long-term self-reliance and dignity.
Impact of Your Support in 2024–25
Through your generosity, CHCS distributed dozens of specially designed food carts during 2024 and early 2025. Each cart was equipped with:
An initial stock of food items and essentials to help families start their small vending businesses immediately.
Training in hygiene and food safety to ensure customers receive clean, healthy meals.
Customer service guidance to help beneficiaries attract and retain customers.
Basic financial management lessons so families can track earnings, manage expenses, and gradually grow their business.
These carts are more than just tools for survival—they are stepping stones toward independence. Many families who once depended on uncertain daily labor now have a reliable source of income, enabling them to feed their children, send them to school, and plan for a more secure future.
Building Resilience and Hope
The initiative does more than fight unemployment; it instills confidence and resilience. Each food cart represents a chance for families to reclaim their dignity and contribute to the local economy. Several recipients have even expanded their businesses, employing helpers or diversifying their offerings—a powerful ripple effect that uplifts entire communities.
Looking Ahead: Scaling the Initiative in 2025
As demand for this initiative grows, CHCS is determined to scale up in 2025. With your continued support, we aim to:
Provide hundreds of additional food carts to families in urban and semi-urban areas.
Strengthen training programs by adding modules on entrepreneurship, budgeting, and marketing.
Establish a mentorship network connecting successful vendors with new participants.
Conduct regular follow-ups to monitor progress, offer advice, and ensure sustainability.
Why Your Support Matters
Every cart you help fund is not just a business—it is a lifeline. It represents meals on the table, children in school, and families breaking free from the cycle of poverty. Your compassion is the driving force behind this transformation, turning hardship into opportunity and despair into hope.
Together, we can empower more families to stand on their own feet, one food cart at a time.
Warm regards,
Dr. Asif Mahmood Jah
