By Peter de Laat | Project Leader
Hi dear donors & Friends,
We had a visitor from Kenya/The Netherlands who is staying Kenya at the moment. He was a teacher on sustainable agriculture, so we were happy that he also inspected the new compost heap of Mrs Mary and the field plots that were enriched with home made compast manure last year. This was from the first F2F educatrion by Mr Solomon, an agriculture officer, who is our main agricultural teacher for our projects.
Mr. Kees, our special guest was very pleased with the progress that the farmer had made from making their own compost heaps and working with this material in the field of maize. He told about common agricultural methods that would reduce pesticides and needs less fertilizer.
After his trip he made a report for DHF about the possible improvements in agriculture and is trying to return to us in the summer for some teachings to farmers. We hope he will.
If would like to support this visits of Mr. Kees while he is in Kenya, you can support him with a donation.
Mr. Solomon is preparing a new F2F project in another village this Summer/Autumn, so it will be ready for the next planting season.
Best Regards,
Pendaeli Amos & Peter de Laat
