Nurses for Night Care

In the first half of 2021 and thanks to your support...we have provided 1,148 nights of nursing care across Ireland.

Irish Hospice Foundation is the only free at-home Night Nursing service for patients suffering from non-cancer diseases. That’s everything from dementia, to heart disease.

Nurses for Night Care enables people with diseases like dementia, motor neurone disease, advanced respiratory disease, heart failure and end stage kidney disease to receive expert nursing care and support at night in their own homes in their final days. It also provides reassurance and respite for families and loved ones caring for someone at home. 

Demand is growing by 15% each year. This year alone we must raise nearly €1 million to meet the growing demand for our Nurses for Night Care service.

Since Coronavirus, more people want to spend their final days at home. Visiting restrictions in hospitals have led to an increase in demand for our Nurses for Night Care service. Your generosity ensures that we reach them all. 

This programme wouldn't be possible without your support. 85% of our income comes from the voluntary donations from generous people like you. Thank you!

According to our provisional figures, for the period of January 2021 to May 2021 we have supported 387 families through this service and we have provided 1,148 nights of nursing care at home. Your kindness and generosity means the world to so many people across the country:
