Nurses for Night Care

Thanks to your generosity, families facing the most difficult moments of their lives can have a caring nurse by their side, a few precious hours of rest and the comfort of staying together until the very end. Your support for our Nurses for Night Care service ensures that people living with life-limiting illness and their loved ones  receive expert care, compassion and reassurance during the night, when they need it most. One of these families your generosity brought comfort to was Aisling’s family. When Aisling’s mum’s health began to deteriorate, the family searched desperately forhelp. 
“We couldn’t find anything. It was such a relief to discover Nurses for Night Care,”Aisling remembers. 

Thanks to you, her mum was able to take her final breaths at home, wrapped in a circle of her family’s love, just as she had wished. Aisling says she could never have fulfilled her mum’s wish without this care. 

Right now, requests for help from a Nurse for Night Care are at an all-time high. But because of your generosity, families like Aisling’s are receiving the comfort and expert care they need when it matters most.  

From January to March this year, Irish Hospice Foundation provided 696 nights of care to families across Ireland, at a cost of €271,440. This year, we expect the cost of delivering this vital service to exceed €1.2 million. Thanks to your generosity, we can ensure that people living with life-limiting illness receive the compassionate care and dignity they deserve — enabling them to spend their final days in the comfort of their own homes, surrounded by those they love. Your support brings light and comfort to families in their darkest moments, and for that, we offer our deepest and most heartfelt thanks.
