Supporting Nurse's Training for Women in Guatemala

Flory is now fulfilling her dream every day. She is providing the care her community needs as a practical nurse in a Health Clinic in Panajachel.

Flory started her long road to this place as a student in the Kateri Scholarship Program in a high school weekend program. She had to work in addition to what her scholarship provided and when she graduated from the week-end program she knew she needed to reenforce what she had learned.

She was able to enroll in a fulltime program for the next year and then with a Kateri scholarship went on to training as a practical nurse traveling three hours each weekend for a year to her classes plus working fulltime.

Her next step was a year in the Kateri Intern Program gaining the experience she needed to secure a fulltime position.

All through this process, she had the support of sponsors like you who partnered with her as she walked this long road. When she thanks the Kateri Fund for its support, she is thanking YOU who are the Kateri Fund.

Without your support she would have had to give up on her dream of a better life along the way. Your financial support is important, BUT the young women so often say that knowing that someone is backing them gives them an incentive to push through those difficult times.
