Peer support is critical for fighting the stigma associated with HIV/AIDS.

Communal meals provide both nutritional and moral support for our patients. The Sikoro Hope Association, who runs the Nutrition program twice weekly, has identified several immediate needs to continue the provision of nutritional meals and to prepare for the consistent increase in participation, including cookware supplies, cooking fuel, storage cabinets, tables and stools.

Please help us buy pots and pans for this important communal activity!

The Nutrition Program for HIV+ members of Sikoro Hope Association

  • Provides nutritional meals at the clinic twice weekly, encouraging clinic attendance.
  • Offers a supportive community and weekly nutrition to HIV+ individuals and their families.
  • Destigmatizes HIV within the community by “normalizing” the presence of HIV+ patients at the clinic
  • Supports and empowers HIV+ women as it is a woman-run association.

One of GAIA VF most exciting objectives for 2019 is to provide greater stability to this woman-led program.
