As 2023 comes to a closing, Diamond Child School of Arts & Culture is proud to announce that the center is presently instructing and feeding daily a record number of 625 students. Diamond Child School Director, Madame Memunatu Mahmoud and Senior Educational Program Officer, Mr. Dennis Kamara oversee 161 hard-working students as they prepare to take the West African Senior Secondary Certificate Examination (W.A.S.S.C.E.) in the spring of 2024. More than half of the “Diamonds” are young girls. The school’s staff celebrates the larger number of female attendees, a most encouraging and positive sign. Girls that stay longer in school are both receiving a more complete education while preventing or postponing early marriages.
GlobalGiving & Airline Ambassador’s cooperation, which includes providing nutritious meals daily, also indirectly assists in the prevention of young women being exposed and victims of female genital mutilation (FGM), a cultural practice that Diamond Child strongly opposes.
.The gracious ongoing contribution to the center’s nutritional program is fundamental in boosting the health of this growing student community. The entire community of Diamond Child, in Sierra Leone and Spain, join together to sincerely thank GlobalGiving & Airline Ambassadors contributors for their support and in wishing you a joyous and healthy holiday season.
Happy Holidays!!
