New "Prep Camp" for the Diamonds!

By Thomas Druary | Project Leader

At Diamond Child School of Arts & Culture an innovative and integral approach to preparing students for the upcoming state exams shall be implemented shortly. Both lower school and secondary school candidates along with dedicated staff and the support of candidates´ parents shall implement a first time preparatory “camp”. This three week long intensive program lasts until the May 4th examination date. 46 “Diamonds” shall benefit from this intensive on-site project.  All students shall receive both group and individual coaching. We are quite confident that most contenders will pass the NPSE (National Primary School Examination), a West African Council requirement. All “campers” shall receive four meals: breakfast, lunch, “a snack” and dinner. Sleeping and shower arrangements will be provided, along with bedding material if needed. Our proud community parents shall lend a hand with the preparation of lunches and dinners. Parents are encouraged to come to the center to support their children during evening visiting hours. A similar arrangement for university bound candidates for the Basic Education Certificate will take place later in the summer. This test is scheduled for late July.

In other related news, from our Madrid office, Diamond Child School of Arts & Culture has been selected as the sole beneficary NGO of the 3rd edition of the Nordic Hiking Club (“La Maliciosa”) solidarity hike. Local staff and supporters will put on hiking boots and accompany other sensitized “walkers” on Saturday, May 11th.

Once again we would like to thank both GlobalGiving and Airline Ambassadores for years of ongoing support to our NGO, especially with the highly regarded nutritious foods program.
