This project will provide daily nutritious school meals to 500 vulnerable girls in rural Uganda to improve attendance, concentration, and academic performance. Hunger is one of the biggest barriers to education. This project ensures girls stay in school, learn better, and build brighter futures through reliable access to food and education support.
In rural Uganda, hunger is a major barrier to education. Many girls attend school on empty stomachs or skip classes entirely due to lack of food. Studies show that hunger reduces concentration, memory, and attendance. Girls from low-income families are most affected, often dropping out early. Without school meals, education becomes difficult to sustain, reinforcing poverty and limiting future opportunities.
This project provides daily nutritious meals to school-going girls, improving attendance, focus, and health. Meals will include balanced staples such as porridge, beans, and nutritious organic foods sourced locally. Schools will be supported to prepare and distribute meals consistently. This removes hunger as a barrier, ensuring girls can stay in class, learn effectively, and complete their education with dignity and stability.
We will support 500 girls with daily school meals annually. Expected outcomes include improved attendance, reduced dropout rates, and increased academic performance. Girls will be healthier, more focused, and more likely to transition to secondary education. Long-term, school meals reduce inequality and improve educational attainment, breaking cycles of poverty and strengthening entire communities through consistent learning opportunities.
