Covid 19 pandemic has been a great challenge in their entire world. It has claimed lives, affected businesses and jobs. The first case in Kenya was in March 2020. It forced the government to put a lot of measures and protocols to help control the spread.
So many people lost their jobs in Nyalenda slums within Kisumu city, students left schools to be with parents putting the burden with the parents leading to increased farmine and poverty index going up. This also led to high cases of teenage pregnancies, loss of lives as some people commit suicide due to depression.
The has applied the protocols and things have started cooling down. The rate of spread oc the virus is going down giving us hope that the curve could be flattened soon. We are hopeful that the children will go back to school soon. The governement has ensured that their policy of protocol is observed and followed. James Were Foundation still has a program to continue proving PPEs to all students, provide face masks, thermo guns, gloves, sanitizers and food to the students and people who are affected by the Covid-19 pandemic.
