Dear Friends and Supporters of Ocean Academy,
Thank you for making the world of difference for our little school in Belize to continue educating the youth of Caye Caulker!
THANK YOU for EMPOWERING girls and INSPIRING hope for our island.
THANK YOU for BELIEVING in the POWER of Education.
We begin this school year with sad hearts after Joni Alice Miller, founding partner of Ocean Academy, peacefully departed her amazing life of 54 years on the 17th of September at a hospital in Victoria where close friends and family surrounded her in love, music, books, laughter, reflection, and friendship.
After selflessly giving eleven years to the development of Ocean Academy as Projects Director, Joni returned to Canada in 2019 where she battled cancer and outlived all doctors’ expectations for another five years. During that time, she continued to support OA efforts from afar while reconnecting with friends and family
Again, we thank YOU for helping us to continue with Joni's commitment to universal education so that every child on Caye Caulker has access to a high school education.
YOU are making this vision a reality. YOU are changing lives. Thank you.
