Greetings and a Happy New Year from the Asherah Foundation!
As we begin 2021, we want to thank you all for your support in 2020. Despite the COVID-19 pandemic, we have still been able to provide support to our incredible scholarship recipients, thanks to contributions from you.
In this report, we wanted to share progress from Thalia, Noura, and Sahra. Thalia and Sahra are still on-track to complete their degrees despite facing setbacks and delays due to COVID-19. These incredible women still need your support during this challenging time.
In addition, we are thrilled to announce that Noura has successfully passed her Viva (oral examination) for her master’s degree! Noura has been working on her MS in Communication & Information Technology at University Malaysia Perlis. Her research has been focused on:
She is also on track to publish two articles in academic journals within the next few months. We will be sure to share her academic writings as soon as they are published!
As we shared in our recent Facebook profile, after she escaped the violence in Yemen, she worked to build programs and develop projects supporting access to education for more than 6,000 children in Yemen! She went back to school for her master’s degree so that she could improve and scale up her work.
We celebrate Noura’s accomplishment and ask you to consider making a donation to help support Thalia and Sahra as they also work towards their degrees.
Thank you for helping us support women around the world!
