Growing season!

By Peter de Laat | Project Leader

Hi dear donors & Friends,

Its been a while since our last report, but we had to get the photo's of the trees that were planted this spring and they are doing well! We planted 2,000 trees at Oldonyong’iro village. The Environmental Conservatioin Committee had organised this Tree Giving Day and farmers from the whole village came to collect some trees to plant on their plots of land.

It gives them shade from the sun, so the crops are growing better. Further, when old enough, they can harvest some wood from it. This year we also combined it with the fertiel soil project. This by planting some fruit trees with the compost this project group of farmers had produced last winter. Check that project for more information on that topic, because a fertil soil benefits also new planted trees.

We can now only wait for the trees to grow and prepare for next planting season. A generous donor gave already a beautiful donation, so we are gonna plant some trees in February 2026, thas for sure!

If you want contribute to our next Tree Giving Day in 2026? For $1 a tree seedling can be planted.

I hope you all had a good summer and when you fly frequently, think about us to compensate your CO2 footprint. We are happy to plant more trees.

Best Regards,

Pendaeli Amos & Peter de Laat
